But I haven’t opened it yet. Anyone tried it yet? When I break the seal will I be instantly flooded with visions of Ross Perot, Dan vs. Dave, and Ice Cube having a good day?

It tasted like regular Pepsi to me.

It’s sweeter and a little more citrusy than regular Pepsi. I always liked it, and I’m glad it came back for a little bit. Now if they’ll just bring back Pepsi Twist.

That’s what I remember from when it was around when I was a kid.

I’ve got a 6 pack at my house waiting to engulf me in 90's

Pepsi Twist was good! I think I may have been the only person on the planet to like Pepsi Blue, though.

YASSSSS!!!!!
It took a while, but I finally found some at my local Walgreens. Bought two bottles. There is a slightly different taste, but it’s not as bad as I remember the complaints about it being in the 90s.
I’d say drink it with plenty of ice. It needs to be super cold. But then again, colas are my least favorite sodas, so I rarely drink them to begin with. (The only cola I really like is Dr Pepper).
FTR, best sodas are:
Dr Pepper; any Mexican soda in apple flavor, specifically Joya manzana or Mundet in green apple; grape soda; orange soda; root beer; black cherry soda; Mt. Dew Baja Blast. :)

Pepsi Twist must come back!

If I eat that, I’m going to need these:

It’s just as meh as it was back then.
Pepsi 1893, though, is legit as fuck.

We’re on the same existential plane, Xlyo. I am very particular about my soda temp. When I’m at home, I’ll put the can/bottle in the freezer until it’s just on the cusp of crystallizing. Hard to beat a Baja Blast straight out of the freezer.

I remember it being just a little bit different.

I worked for pepsi the summer of ‘93. We dumped hundreds of gallons of that crap down the drain. I might just have to get a 6er of crystal pepsi and maybe some new coke while I’m at it, crank some Pearl Jam and drink some pops.

I hope when you drink it you put your flannel shirt on and sit down with your Pearl Jam tapes.

to help you keep those down

I tried that (and the ginger one). I didn’t pick up much of a difference. The ginger one was almost a little spicy, but that’s it.

true story? Pearl Jam was the first cassette tape I listened to in my sweet cassette tape clock radio. Thanks google, this is the exact model I had.

I do the same thing, too!! Texas has a regional grocery chain called HEB (they’re all across Texas and parts of the Northern Gulf states of Mexico) that produces some outstanding in-house items, including a line of gourmet sodas marketed for their upscale grocery stores, called Central Market. One of the flavors of the Central Market sodas is peach bellini. I stick a bottle of that stuff in the freezer until it’s like an Icee. Makes a perfect virgin bellini. Heh.

I need to visit Texas sometime if for nothing else than to eat and drink.

Yeah, it’ll make a gian sucking sound when you take a sip

I highly encourage everyone to visit Texas at least once, and to bring a very empty stomach. Sooooo much good food. :)
If you do come, be prepared to gain five pounds, heh. Gotta pack what my sister refers to as “buffet pants” — pants with an elastic waist. Hehehe.

I’ve seen it next to the other 1893 at most gas stations (in Iowa).

I haven't seen either, but I can't remember the last time I went inside a gas station. Maybe I'll take a walk this afternoon.

Maybe there’s hope they’ll bring back 7-Up Gold. That stuff was delicious.

I don’t remember that stuff.
![]() 09/12/2016 at 14:39 |

I had one of these.
![]() 09/12/2016 at 14:45 |

It didn’t stick around long. I think I was the only one who liked it. It was like a spicy 7-Up. Almost like mixing 7-Up and a strong ginger ale.

Food Stop didn't have it but I got RC Cola instead, so it's kinda still like the 90s.

Grape Mello Yello from those Pininfarina machines has ruined me. I can never drink normal grape soda ever again.

I wish that was still around, would make a good mixer for whiskey or Cap’n. I also liked one of Pepsi’s many attempts to be good at Sprite:
Sierra Mist is stupid and it should still be Slice....this stuff was the bubbly apple juice of your dreams!
